We help our friend Beth a lot on the weekends when she takes her dogs to Petco for adoption. We have two great dogs from her rescue and appreciate what she's doing. Mia loves to "work" there, even though she's not getting paid. She doesn't know what volunteering is, even though she's doing it.
While we were on Shamian Island earlier this week, we saw a mother dog roaming the streets looking for food. We tried to pet her, but she was not ready for American attention. If we had been carrying some food, she would have been our best friend. She was pretty cute. It's probably for the best that we didn't get to pet her though. Rabies in China is probably fairly low down on the list of things that you want to do with your life.
