On Tuesday when we received our consulate appointment date and made our flight reservations, we sent a quick email to Kennedy to let her know the great news! Sometimes, it has taken a week or two to get a reply since she does not always have access to a computer. We were pleasantly surprised Friday morning by her short, sweet email! I have included the text below. In her email, she also included some animated graphics of happy faces dancing. Too cute! We are so happy that she is looking forward to meeting us, and we are thankful that we have been able to have so much contact with her throughout the LONG wait! She has actually known about our plan to adopt her since January because she regularly talks to her best friend, Kau'i, who was adopted last December by the amazing family we have named Kennedy after. We feel blessed that she has expressed happiness and excitement about the adoption from the start, and she has had several months to process the whole idea. We feel that it will probably help with her adjustment. We realize there may be some rough transitions ahead, but believe that her knowledge and acceptance of us as her family for this long time span will help quite a bit. We ask you to join us in praying for Kennedy to have a supernaturally smooth transition into our family. God led us strainght to her, so we believe He will move mountains for us again with bonding, attachment and adjustment.

Mom, Dad, I once again say hello to you! I am very happy to meet you soon, there are only two weeks until I can see you! I'm excited! I love you!

That is so precious and sweet. I also hope she will have an easier transition because she has known for a long time.
